The
Kingdon Freud The “Red King” Iarilo and his wife, the “Blue Queen” Sonehtrap, rule the “Purple Kingdom” of Epap. Iarilo is called the “Red King” because he always wears red; his garments, all of silk and velvet and other fine materials, are made with the brightest and most expensive dies in the land. Sonehtrap has named the “Blue Queen” for her clothes. Upon her marriage to Iarilo, the King declared that all subjects are to wear purple as symbol of the union and of their joint rule. Ever since, Epap has been called the “Purple Kingdom.” The people of the Purple Kingdom are in a state of distress. The average income barely buys enough for a family of three to survive, but the average family has five children. King Iarilo has not been a kind or just ruler to his people. He has led more men to their death in war than any other king the land has known. It is rumored that his army sometimes raids the villages of the Purple Kingdom to find women for the King. He has instituted no social programs to help his people despite their poverty. In fact, he has done little else than bring his men to war against the neighboring countries. Queen Sonehtrap, on the other hand, has devoted all of her rule to helping her people help each other, and help others. She has set in place a Good Samaritan Law, a welfare program, among many other programs and laws. She started a foreign aid campaign, which sends money and food to countries with which Epap is not at war. |
